SERVICE CONNECTIONS
TO THE SANITARY SEWER |
| |
|
Connection permits are issued in our
office
on Monday through Friday between the hours of
8:00 am - 11:30 am and 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm. At times of heavy volume
permit requests, you will be asked to pick up your permit(s) on the
next business day. For questions regarding
fees, please refer to
District Ordinance #9-13-2004. |
| |
| Two site plans
are required at the time of permit - ALL
necessary detail must be included on site plans. This includes: top
of casting for upstream and downstream manholes, manhole numbers,
main floor elevations, proposed lateral locations, proposed
connection into main/manhole, required easements and property lines.
More information may be required at the time of review. |
| |
| All fees must be
paid at the time of permit: $1,650
connection fee plus a $100 application/inspection fee. Interceptor
fees may also apply if not previously paid by the developer. |
| |
| If your project
involves either a new connection, modification or repair to the sanitary sewers in the
District's
service
area, you need to
obtain a permit from the District before you can get your
building permit from the appropriate planning and zoning
jurisdiction. |
| |
|
A
District inspection will also be required. As stated on our
permit, inspections must be scheduled 24 hours in advance by
calling the District office. Inspections called in after hours will
have to wait until the following day in order to schedule.
Voicemails for inspection requests will not be allowed. Please visit our
Sewer Projects page for more
information on the District's fees and permitting requirements. The
District's construction specifications for main line installations,
lateral connections, repairs, manhole inside drops and other details
are included on our
Specifications & Download page. You may also
want to check our
Document Index
page for a listing of other related documents pertaining to
dedication of completed sewers. |
| |
|
From the District's main office, you may also need to go to
Carmel
City Hall, or to
Zionsville
Town Hall, or the Boone County Area Plan Commission office in the county courthouse in
Lebanon
- in some cases, maybe even to the City-County Building in downtown
Indianapolis. If your
project involves any impact on the local roads or road right-of-way
to access our sewers, you may also need to obtain permits from the
Hamilton County or Boone County Highway Departments, Indiana
Department of Transportation or the Zionsville or Carmel Street
Departments. District staff can advise you of the specifics for your
particular situation. |
| |
|
We know this can be confusing but the District is an independent
political entity with a regional service territory, serving
properties in four different planning and zoning jurisdictions.
Regardless of which zoning jurisdiction will issue your building
permit, our connection permit must be obtained first. |
