In 2009 the District applied for certification through the Indiana Wildlife Federation. To reduce costs of mowing the wastewater plant and to make a positive environmental impact, all the regular grass was killed and we had a company come in to plant prarie grass. Below are pictures of our wastewater plant grounds. We think it contributes a beautiful scene to the plant as well as being a wildlife habitat-friendly area.
